| Crackdown on rowdy drinkers
The Evening News revealed earlier this month how at least one complaint a day about noisy smokers is being made to the local authority on the issue. Councillor Sheila Gilmore, the city's antisocial behaviour leader, said: "The bylaw is not just for the city centre, it's intended to be used across the city. "In some other parts of the country it is against the law completely to drink outdoors unless in pavement cafes, but we didn't want to be seen as killjoys. "The police have told us that their officers will use their own judgment in every individual case and that a commonsense approach will be taken." A spokeswoman for Lothian and Borders Police told the Evening News: "We will be duty-bound to enforce the laws as set down by the Scottish Executive, working alongside the council, but we would not like to make any further comment at this stage.
Ramco bags mega order
Ramco Systems, a leading provider of Enterprise Applications, has bagged an order for automating Inland Container Depot (ICD) from Adani group. The company will provide services to the ICD operations of the Adani group who have recently set up their largest inland container depot (ICD) in India, at Pathi, south of Gurgaon that will facilitate its container train plans. Adani group caters to the logistics need of the country by creating its own multi-modal links. It is constructing silos, warehouses, private sidings and inland container depots at various locations in the country besides entering the field of third party logistics. The group is also considering entering into storage and distribution of farm fresh products.

Norfolk Botanical Garden demonstrating conservation method
The small building where visitors buy tickets for boat rides at Norfolk Botanical Garden is now one of the garden displays, rather than simply an adjunct structure. The building's cedar shingles are gone and in their place is a green roof, a living bed of succulents such as sedums and hens and chicks. The year-round roof will be a natural part of the growing season along with all the rest of the garden's plant beds. Come spring and summer, the succulent roof will bloom and hens will produce chicks. Come fall, many will turn a rich red, pink or chartreuse, said Melissa Butler, herbaceous plants curator at the garden. "They are really very pretty in fall," Butler added. But unlike other plants in the garden, pretty is as pretty does for these succulents.
