Redsand gives a great oppurtunity to fish in Canada
The specifics of fishing in clear water is that fish see well and they rely heavily on sight for feeding. Light penetration and oxygen is deeper, therefore fish are usually are found deeper and fish feed more toward morning and evening or even at night. Fish are more active on cloudy or windy days, because light is diffused and walleyes are less spooked by boats and surface noise. Also, in clear water walleyes school more and usually roam to find food, but if the water is slow to warm and they might be a little lethargic.Rocky reefs are natural ambush points for walleyes, especially during increased wave activity. Anchor upwind and float a leech over the rocks with a slip bobber. Make sure you don't fish too shallow, walleyes sulking in the crevices won't move far for fast moving bait. The owners and operators of Redsand Lake in Northwestern Ontario are Elson and Kim Strickland.
Kosovo Independence Tipped for Feb 17
A US diplomat said independence was likely to come a Sunday, when the UN Security Council does not normally meet. That would fit with the Serbian government's reference to February 17. Russia has said it will use its right of veto in the Security Council, where it is a permanent member, in support of Serbia, which regards Kosovo was the cradle of Serbian Orthodox history, culture and religion. The European Union is preparing to send a 2,000-strong civilian mission to oversee Kosovo's birth as an independent state, in spite of opposition from several of its member states including Cyprus and Spain. While EU officials consider February 17 as the probable date, talks between European capitals would "multiply next week" to find a declaration "acceptable by all" at the EU foreign ministers' meeting, diplomats in Brussels say.
Harman lobbied over gender pay gap
Union activists have lobbied a Government minister as part of a campaign to close the gender pay gap. Officials from Unison delivered a strong message that women deserve as much pay as men to Labour's deputy leader Harriet Harman at the party's Spring conference in Birmingham. The union's head of local government Heather Wakefield, women's officer Sharon Green and other female officials pointed out that women's average pay was still "scandalously" 17% less than men's. Unison's general secretary Dave Prentis said: "Thirty years on, the Equal Pay Act is still seen by many employers as a take-it-or-leave-it bit of legislation. "But we want to see it implemented robustly across the UK. "Local authorities have dragged their feet in implementing equal pay, blaming the lack of cash.
Flaherty fires back
This is the best move for the middle class. It doesn't help the rich too much. It's $5000 interest free each year. It's enough to help the middle class with some investment...even if its just a high interest savings account. But its not a general capital gains tax to benefit the very wealthy. kudos to Flaherty for one of the best budgets in a while. I need good fiscal management not vision. If you want vision, go to Church. Posted 27/02/08 at 11:14 AM EST | Alert an Editor | Link to Comment .
